After releasing 9 increasingly popular and distinctive albums Paul deLay with his Portalans, Oregon-based band, he decided to satisfy a long-standing desire to record an album in Chicago with local musicians playing Chicago-flavored material he had written. And so this album was breathed into life featuring the Windy City's most musicians including, Zora Young, Rockin' Johnny Band and Jimmy Dawkins. This rollicking CD combines the best of electric Chicago-style blues with enlightened, contemporary material and the jaw-dropping insturmental technique that has made deLay a worthy decendant of his heroes - the original harp greats Big Walter, Little Walter, James Cotton & Junior Wells.
