Studio One: Freedom Sounds: Studio One in the 1960's 'STUDIO ONE IN THE 1960S' - This comp focuses on the label's successes in the 1960s, a period when Clement 'Sir Coxsone' Dodd helmed an operation that was the Jamaican equivalent of Motown. The tunes they were cutting were just as hot as the Motor City label's, too, something evidenced by the A-grade list of artists on 'Studio One Freedom Sounds'. Bob Marley & The Wailers, Alton Ellis, Peter Tosh, Jackie Mittoo and many more.
